On Tuesday August 10th, the Omaha City Council is hosting TWO open hearings. At 2:00pm, the Council convenes for an open forum on the proposed Police Union Contract. We need volunteers to turn out for the meeting to voice your opposition to this outrageously expensive contract.
On the same day, at 7:00pm, the Council is also hosting an open forum to hear from the citizens on the Mayor’s proposed budget. We also need volunteers to speak out against the tax increases proposed by the Mayor and demand that the Council take the negotiation power away from the Mayor and find an independent negotiator that will stand for the citizens. The Mayor has done little to cut the fat in the Police and Fire Departments so tax increases should be out of the question.
So, we need YOU next Tuesday to be seen and make your voice heard before the Council. If you don’t want speak, being there is very important to show constituent opposition to these two horribly expensive policy actions.
